Meet
BULAN
Black Undergraduates.
Bold ideas.
Real impact.

Behind BULAN ...
Before the world called it Africa, it was Alkebulan - meaning "Mother of Mankind" & "The Land of Beginnings" to its inhabitants.
We're building a future where Black students don't wait until graduation to innovate.
Then came colonization, and with it-- a new name, narrative, and forgetting.
Bulan is a catalyst for its members to create, collaborate, and ambitiously execute.
Bulan is the beginning of a remembering. It's a call to reclaim what was lost & reimagine what's next.

Where We Build Entrepreneurs & Foster Transformative Creativity
To effectively foster the innovative space BULAN intends to curate, our programming on a semester basis involves:
Co-working Dinners. Dinners where members exchange ideas, receive feedback, and collaborate with their peers.
Panels. Listen to experienced professionals share personal accounts of their approach to innovate through work, followed by group conversation sessions.
Workshops. Opportunity to learn how to present oneself & your idea, followed by the space to actively reflect on how members can iterate their approaches.
Pitch It! Members present their research & idea for improving an issue in their industry of choosing in front of the BULAN community (mentors, professors, sponsors, donors, & plus +1's) in a creative format. Options include but not limited to:
-
3-5 minute Ted-Talk
-
Short Film
-
Website Mockup
-
Other non-traditional modes of presentation TBD
